"De Jongen die meer            kaas wilde"

Once upon a time, there was a boy who really loved cheese.

But his family was poor, and his mother told him that he couldn’t afford to keep eating so much cheese every day.

But every night, when he went to bed, he would still be thinking about eating more cheese.

It got so bad that even in his dreams he would do nothing but eat cheese.

But these dreams soon turned into nightmares when giant wheels of cheese started falling on him.

But the wheels of cheese became bigger and heavier and started falling faster and harder until eventually he became buried in it.

With a shock, he woke up, but he realized in his sleep he had been eating, but it wasn’t cheese. It was grass.

About

For this collection I chose to focus on my family history gathering images, writings, and paintings from Volendam (fishing village in the Netherlands). The Garments are inspired from traditional prints and silhouettes which I translated into my aesthetic values.
